The Final Days: The U.S. Presidential Election 2024
This 2024 Presidential election is deemed one of the most significant elections in America’s
history. Decision 2024 will go down in history in just 2 days – November 5, 2024. During this
week, read news reports and watch news stories depicting the various events and issues that will
attest to the importance of this election. As you read and watch the news, respond to the
following.
1. What are the battleground states? Why are they considered battleground states? What is
another name for battleground states? Which battleground states are the candidates
winning and by what percentage? Why so?
2. According to media reports, discuss what the populace and the candidates are saying
about the following issues: reproductive rights; immigration; voter accessibility; gun
rights/control; climate and energy; the economy; student loan forgiveness; tax policies,
etc.
3. What was/is your impetus for voting?
4. What is your understanding of the causes of the division between the Dems and the
GOP?
5. How would you encourage those who are 18 years old and above to participate in the
voting process?
