Annotated Bibliography
We will be looking for sources that will inform your film. This could be sources on theory, history, psychology, storytelling, etc. These will be used in your Treatment section to help support your story/argument. These sources should be divided up as follows: five academic sources (peer reviewed and/or reliable sources like The New Yorker) and two short films that will inform your own film. This will be included in the memory section of your treatment.
Memory: discussion of at least two previous short films that provide aesthetic, historical, and/or rhetorical contexts for your film. Analyze these films according to the arrangement of rhetorical tools.
The annotated bibliography will be a classic style. You will do each source 7 times following the guidelines below.
Bibliographic entry in MLA or APA…
Annotation: The annotation will be 3 paragraphs.
The first will be a summary of the source, without any comment.
The second is an evaluation of the source: valid? tone? style? author? location? And so on…
The third is how this source fits into your particular project. How will you use this source?
If you wish, add a quote from the source so you can easily find it later. This would be in addition to the above three paragraphs.
Each annotation should be about 1 page. Double-space. Some may be longer and some may be shorter.
Remember: The two sources you use in your pitch will be two of the seven sources for this annotated bibliography.
