You ask her how she knows, and she says that is what the Bible tells her. 2) A famous celebrity has been convicted of financial fraud. At the press conference, the district attorney says all the evidence points to him being in the right place at the right time. He was motivated by his enormous debts, and his connections to the shady underworld of the mafia gave him the opportunity to commit the crime. He closes his press conference by stating, “We are going to show there is justice in the world.” 3) Your brother drops out of college, quits his job, and leaves home to hitchhike across the country. “I’m tired of living the rat race,” he says. “Life is too short, so I might as well go and have some fun before I either get old or die.” 4) In your astrophysics class, your professor denies that climate change is caused by humans. “I study the sun,” she says. “I have seen from my own experience and observations that the sun is undergoing changes. The changes in earth’s climate are due to that; not our own behavior. I drive a pickup truck. I don’t recycle. It’s all a political sham.” 5) On the news, you see a report that there has been a spike in COVID-19. The governor considers shutting down schools and businesses once again. One person who was interviewed by the news station is furious. “How can the governor do that? What about the economy? More people will be hurt by shutting down the economy than will be killed by COVID.”
