After you have read through the chapters, write a 2-3 page paper reflecting on the following questions: Is it fair to compare the experiences of European immigrants to those from other areas of the world? Why or why not? What differences does light skin make in the dynamics of discrimination? What differences did you notice between the experiences of people from the different regions of Europe (North, West, East, Central, and South)? Why does it appear to take at least two generations for white ethnic groups to make the transition from being victims of discrimination to being accepted in America? Why does it take other ethnic groups longer? This paper calls for you to make choices and state your thoughts on the questions above. Do make sure you support your assertions with information from the textbook.
