Introduction to Business Case Analysis Instructions Purpose: The main goal of this assignment is to help students be better prepared for Strategic Management courses (Capstone). Case analysis demonstrates the challenges that managers and leaders face trying to determine how best to run their companies. Case analysis places you in the middle of a real situation and challenges you to figure out what the best strategies and/or decisions will be. Recommended Process:• Read quickly through the case one time to get an overall sense of the material.• Read through the case again, carefully. Make written notes as you read.• Evaluate how strategic concepts might inform key decisions or suggest alternative solutions• After formulating an initial recommendation, evaluate the case again to help assess the consequences of the actions, solutions, processes, etc. you propose. Requirements: (SEE Rubric))Section 1: Please provide an introduction to the case. Identify and describe your company’s issues and problems to be solved. Please take into consideration that in some cases the problem will be presented plainly, most of the time in the opening paragraphs, or in the last page of the case. However, in other cases the problems don’t become evident until the issues in the case have been analyzed. Section 2: Describe your company’s situation by completing a SWOT analysis. In the SWOT analysis, you should identify and explain at least three items for each element. Section 3: Management – Explain the four function of management and how they apply to your case. Section 4: Explain the four P’s of marketing (Product, Price, Place [Distribution], and Promotion) and how they apply to your case. Address each part of the mix. Section 5: Provide a detailed action plan for the case including how to prevent a future similar occurrence. Evaluate the benefit vs. cost and risk and return trade-off of your suggestions. Formatting Requirements Paper must be clearly written and properly cited.
