The purpose of this assignment is to develop your critical thinking and analytical skills while exploring two different works of art. You will compare and contrast these works to gain a deeper understanding of their context, style, and meaning. Write about the historical events whose impact on art-making or styles can be clearly documented; religious iconography, and technique. The focus of the paper should be narrow, rather than broad, and more specific than general.
The two works of art to compare and contrast are: Prayer Hall of the Great Mosque(Islamic art) and Temple of the giant Jaguar(Mesoamerica art)
Formatting and Submission Guidelines:
Include a title page
Paper should be typed and double-spaced.
Use a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, Arial) and a 12-point font size.
Notes and Bibliography in Chicago Manual of Style
The paper should be about 1000 words (not counting title page, notes and bibliography).
