The Feminist Movement    – Bridging the Gap
The purpose of this paper is for student to get a clearer understanding of the possible division and reconciliation of the feminist movements. Address the following topics:
1)The Black Feminist Movement
•      Historical Perspective (s)
•      Why the separate movements?
•      Different perspectives of the black feminist movement (first, second, third wave of the feminist movements). Select only one feminist wave. Select one black feminist and their contribution to the black feminist movement.
                 *    Black Feminist Epistemology View (how did black women define themselves)?
                 *   How did black males contribute to the oppression of black females
                 * White Male Euro-Centric definition of black women.
•      The purpose of the movement (Feminist)
•      How productive was the movement for black women, and the black community (socially, politically) In other words, name feminists (at least two feminists) contribution to  the black community
•      From a personal perspective, what is your opinion concerning black feminist remaining a separate entity from white feminist.
•      From a personal perspective, what is your opinion concerning black feminist and white feminist coming together as a united force.  How could this union benefit society, from a social, racial and sexist perspective?
 
White Feminist Movement
1) Historical Perspective
•      What lesson (s) white women need to learn about their own racist attitude concerning black women?
•      Can this racist wound be healed completely between the two groups of women?
•      From your personal perspective what would you suggest to white women.
•      Why and how should white women be held accountable for their racist view and treatment of black women.
•      From a personal perspective, do you think that the trust between white and black women can be restored? Why or why not?
•      In conclusion, if you had the opportunity to set at a round table discussion with both white and black women what would you say concerning ways of bridging the gap between them?
