Review the components of teaching from Charlotte Danielson ( WI State Educator Effectiveness model) and James Stronge (Effectiveness Project model). As you review the components of the Danielson Framework for Teaching, choose four of them, preferably from Danielson’s Domain 2 and Domain 3 (Classroom Environment and Instruction) or from the performance indicators of James Stronge’s Performance Standards 1-6 in the Effectiveness Project.
As you review these standards, think about what these indicators or components mean to you—how would they look in practice in a classroom for a “Distinguished” teacher. Think through the lens of a school leader to create your own list of “look-fors” for each of the four components / indicators that would provide evidence of that component/indicator. This list will be one that you refer to as you observe and conduct evaluations as an administrator or coach teachers through their evaluations.
