Scenario
You are interested in examining the GPA, quantitative (math) SAT scores, and verbal math scores among students in UOWD.
You have conducted a cross-sectional survey in September 2023.
You have collected self-reported data from participants relating to their scores.
You need to enter data in SPSS or PSPP for data analyses.
Use the RECODE command to create a new categorical variable from quantitative (math) SAT where low SAT is 650 and high SAT is ≥650
1. Is there a significant difference on the mean of the verbal SAT between males and females?
2. Is there a significant difference on GPA among the three majors (Art and Science, business, and Engineering)?
3. Is there a significant relationship between the quantitative (math) SAT scores and verbal SAT scores?
4. Is there a significant difference in the proportion of male and female between high and low quantitative SAT scores?
5. Does the verbal SAT scores significantly predict GPA among college students?
Please make sure to do the following:
1. Specify the choice of the statistical analysis
2. Justify your choice
3. Check for assumptions, must be included in the SPSS output and reported in the results. If the assumptions are violated, please make sure to perform both the parametric and the nonparametric test and then compare the results of both tests.
4. Report the results: Results must be reported in the format learned in the class
5. Submit 4 files: SPSS dataset, SPSS syntax, SPSS output file, the research report in a word file.
