It has everything: a hook, quotes and allusions, metaphors to make abstract issues picturable, logic, ethics, emotion, rhetorical devices like repetition to beautify the speech and make it more convincing. I recommend reading a few of your choice from here https://www.americanrhetoric.com/newtop100speeches.htm () or another collection of top speeches. The other political speeches I’ve posted may not be as gorgeous, but they share some of these. There was also the “Thank you for Smoking” guy who uses his speeches to manipulate (possibly using logical fallacies). Brutus and Mark Antony did this too. Politicians use many of these devices – you don’t need to use them all and your speech should just be 2-3 minutes. Politicians often have a slogan and connect with their audience in particular. It’s like an essay, but it uses pretty and persuasive language.
