Objectives of the project: Students required to investigate measurement methods for a physical quantity. It is required to specify the static characteristics of each two methods including accuracy, precision, resolution, non-linearity, hysteresis, uncertainty at the mid-point of the range (details in bellow table). As a part of the results and discussion of the project, it will be expected to investigate the performance and applications of each method. •Requirement All students in this module need to research, extract the static characteristics, and evaluate the performance of measurement methods (ultrasonic and dye penetration) for a physical variable and should concentrate on the following points: – The research will entail investigating all existing methods and the theoretical background required to develop a solution to the problem (collect the data from 7 scientific papers or catalogs). -The feature extraction for each method including range, accuracy, precision, resolution, non-linearity, sensitivity, hysteresis, uncertainty at the nominal point. -Performance evaluation of each method will aim to check the functionality of each method.
