In this assignment, you will write some code and answer a few questions in a R Markdown document. This exercise will require you to write code similar to the ones seen in DataCamp or lecture demonstrations as well as new code. An important skill to develop when working with R is that of looking for examples of how to write code for some specific tasks using the R help files and Google (just do a search for something like the following template: how to [do something] in R). Google is also your best resource for quickly troubleshooting issues or errors you′re getting (e.g. you can paste the error messages you′re getting and chances are someone has already addressed a question about the same or similar error). The data set you will work with in this assignment was collected to investigate what influences the growth rate of seedlings of the tree Pouteria sapota in the rainforests of Mexico. The data set contains the following variables: Predictor (or independent) variables: ma (the mass of the seed at the start of the study); op (the openness of the canopy where the seedling was planted, measured as a proportion); and zn (the concentration of zinc in the leaves of the seedlings). Response (or dependent) variable: he (the height of the plant after 24 months). The data set is part of a larger study published in the paper you can find in this link Attached are three files: assignment_1.Rmd: this is the R Markdown file template you will be working with. Add the required code to the R chunks and answer questions where indicated. assignment_1.html: this is an example of how the rendered HTML file would look like if you write the codes as required. Use this example to check if the work you did on your R Markdown file is rendering similar tables and figures. seedling_data.csv: this is the CSV data file you will use in the assignment.
