Use a simple outline form of 1, 2, 3, a,b,c, etc. to list the elements and principles you will describe. In 3-5 sentences each, describe their expressive contribution to the final meaning of your painting. Remember that every element and principle can be used in different ways for a different effect. Identify that but also use adjectives to describe the expressive result of that choice. 3.) In a summary paragraph at the end, combine all of the previous observations into the composite expression of the formal elements in the painting. Your analysis should result in adjectives being used to describe the specific variants of the Elements and Principles chosen by the artist. Beyond this, combine the expressive adjectives and phrases used to describe these, into a summary expression of the composition, 4.) Using a program like Photoshop or Illustrator, import the image of your artwork and add layers.
