Hypotheses are a very important step to the research process. Below you will find a list of normative goals. For each goal complete the following:

*Formulate a hypothesis useful for explaining or for measuring progress toward attaining the normative goals.
*State the dependent and independent variables.
*State how you would measure amounts of each variable.
*State what units of analysis you would use.
1. Women and men should receive equal salaries for similar occupations.
2. All gun control laws should be repealed.
3. All citizens should receive a college education.
4. Campaign contributions by interest groups or political action committees should be limited by law.
5. Chemical and biological weapons should be eliminated.
