Earth SystemsIt should be noted that there exist five major earth systems. The first is the geosphere which happens to consist of what is known as the surface of the Earth and the interior of the Earth. Both of these features are made up of rock fragments. The second system is the one that can support life for living things. It is referred to as the biosphere. This is referred to as “our system.” In this case, it happens to be the system where we happen to live and therefore call home. The third system is filled with water and is known as the hydrosphere. The atmosphere forms the fourth Earth system. It happens to be comprised of gas that tends to keep the planet warm and provides both oxygen and carbon dioxide for humans and plants. Finally, we have the fifth system, which is the cryosphere. It tends to comprise of the ice at the poles, and elsewhere ice can be found.All these earth systems tend to affect each other and interact to a high degree to form what is referred to as a planet that can host and support life, Earth (Jacobson et al., 1). For example, the sun happens to cause the melting of the cryosphere, allowing waters to flow and fill the oceans and seas, which make part of the hydrosphere. The geosphere provides some tectonic forces and movements that allow for actions such as erosion to take place for plants to grow quite freely in the ground, therefore not suffocating.
