Draft a Presidential Study Directive (PSD), or Executive Order, in which constitutional issues are identified in the six overarching homeland security missions () as they relate to addressing current risks or threats and the relationship to your home agency (Note: Some issues may not be relevant to your agency.)
Note, this should specifically address homeland security or homeland defense mission space (not national security). Remember that you, as the President of the United States, are signing this Directive/Order. It may be written in such a manner that it is focused towards the department/agency/entity that you identified in the Getting Started Lesson or it may be focused more broadly.
Use either President Obama’s PSD-1 (https://fas.org/irp/offdocs/psd/psd-1.pdf.) or President Trump’s Executive Order: Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States (https://www.dhs.gov/publication/executive-order-13780-protecting-nation-foreign-terrorist-entry-united-states-initial), in particular Section 3 (a) [mandated review], (b) [mandated report], and (h) [joint progress report] as an example and template, but adapt it to the topic and scope of your Directive/Order.
