Re-read the sections in the textbook on the use of atomic weapons on Japan (“The Atomic Bombs” and “The Atomic Bombs: Were They Justified?”).
Explain the arguments for and against the use of this weapon, and any other considerations. If you had been in charge, would you have ordered the use of the bombs? Cite reasons from the evidence in the text for your decision. Does this provide any insights into the difficulty of such decisions?
