Each topic in this course requires learners to complete an assignment as part of a larger practicum project. Each assignment corresponds to a step in the project management life cycle. Read “Nursing Informatics Practicum Project Overview,” located in Course Materials, for further information.

For this part of the project, you will identify a clinical, technological, or process-related business need affecting the organization for which you currently work or have previously worked. Be sure to identify the need from a Christian worldview using ethical decision making. Meet with your preceptor and stakeholders to better understand the business need. Write an essay (750–1,000 words) addressing the following:

Identify a business need affecting one or two departments.
Discuss why a change is needed and if it aligns with the organization’s strategic and operational intent.
Discuss the business goals and objectives.
Discuss the recommended informatics solutions.
Develop a problem statement.
