A family member, well aware of your psychology background, has come to you for advice. They have been experiencing “the blues” for quite some time now and are ready to seek professional help to get back on track. They want your opinion on different treatment options that are available.

In a five-paragraph essay, write a letter to this family member. The letter should include:

The type of information you would like to have from the family member in order to help you make a recommendation. (I.e. what would you like to know about what your family member is experiencing before making your decision).
Also, be sure to compare and contrast at least one method of talk therapy and medication.
Regardless of your recommendation for either therapy, medication, or both; be sure to discuss the pros and cons of each type of intervention and explain what the family member can expect from the various intervention methods.
