Governments around the world in developed countries have known for a long time that we will have a blowout in aged care requirements but very little has been done to improve what we need to manage this. So if you are interested in age care you could look at the aged care industry in new Zealand and how it is being managed and the demographics of population going into the different aged care facilities – what sort of infrastructure is being harnessed that is aged care friendly and appropriate? What about the level of care and the quality of care? Is aged care affordable and equitable for all as seen in 9.1? 9.4 talks about retrofitting and upgrading do you think that is occurring in residential care and aged care facilities? How will this impact on delivering nursing care? One of the biggest issues that hit aged care in COVID 19 was the lack of PPE, this is due to a disruption in the supply chain, the confusion about PPE the different messages for the different providers.
