Thesis: changes in political perspectives regarding roe v wade over the years. Throughout American history, abortion has caused much political controversy; since the historical ruling in 1973 on the case of Roe v. Wade the subject has become more politicized and controversial over the years. Today, the legality of abortion remains controversial, and the rhetoric regarding abortion has become even more politically charged. However, the arguments being waged today among American citizens are very different than the arguments the Justices of the Supreme Court had when they were debating the case. The Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v Wade has become politicized for reasons that were not prominent when the decision was made in 1973.
