Go to the website at https://everydaybiochemistry.com/everyday-biochem/ and look through the examples of Everyday Biochemistry, which come from the 23 chapters in the textbook (some are from the 2nd Edition, but everything you need is contained on the web page). Once you have read through the information provided in the text and figure of an Everyday Biochem example you are interested in, answer the following three questions by numbering each answer separately. Remember do not include the questions with your submitted assignment, only provide the numbered answers. List the name of the Everyday Biochem example you chose and the corresponding chapter, e.g., “Chapter 11. Food Poisoning by Bonkrekic Acid” in the title of your submitted assignment. 1. Describe how this example specifically relates to the key concepts in the corresponding chapter, i.e., why was this example chosen for this chapter? 2. Each Everyday Biochem includes information that illustrates how this example relates to our everyday lives, either as an historical perspective or as a more recent discovery or application. Describe two specific and personal take-aways from this example that you find interesting and why you chose them, e.g., you have always been curious about this process or observation, or perhaps you have experienced this in your life – or would like to experience. 3. Describe another Everyday Biochem example from the same chapter as the example you chose that could have been used for this chapter. For example, if you chose the chapter opening for Chapter 11, then come up with another Everyday Biochem example from Chapter 11 that directly relates to the concepts, e.g., carbon monoxide poisoning. Very briefly describe why you think this new example is ideal for this particular chapter, e.g., “Chapter 11. Carbon Monoxide Poisoning During a Winter Storm in Texas February 2021.” You must include where in the same chapter this Everyday Biochem is described, e.g., “Figure 11.42 Summary of Inhibitors.”
