Read the textbook and other helpful materials related to appropriate and effective strategies for teaching reading to culturally diverse groups through literature in order to identify children’s books for each of the six cultures discussed in the textbook.
Identify a minimum of five children’s books that would be beneficial for each of the six cultures (30 books). Write a brief description/summary of each book.
Present the books in a logical organization (i.e. alphabetically, by culture group, by age, etc.)
Consider how the book can be used. Would it be good for read alouds, silently, etc.? (1-2 sentences)
What age or grade would enjoy the book? What is the readability level of the book? (1-2 sentences)
