Five of the most common are the biopsychological, behavioral, psychodynamic, cognitive, and humanistic approaches. Select three and explain how each one is unique in its approach to the study of human behavior. Write as much as you know about each approach. Give an example of how you could apply a concept learned from each approach to your life. Include a clear definition of each approach, some of the main theorists, and how they view the development of both personality and mental illness. Also address how each approach treats various forms of mental illness. If you select the cognitive approach, be sure to mention the cognitive-behavioral approaches developed by Aaron Beck and Albert Ellis. If you are using the textbook listed in the syllabus, by Robert Feldman, please use chapters 10 and 13 in addition to other sources for this assignment. The tables onpage385 and page 495of Essentials of Understanding Psychology is a good start.
If you are using the Wood, Wood, and Boyd book and if you select the cognitive approach, be sure to include information in Chapter 13, as information contained in Chapter 1 alone does not suffice. Chapters 1, 11, and 13 should be used for this assignment. The “Summary and Comparison of the Therapies” table found in chapter 13 is a good start. The paper is to be a minimum of five pages typed(maximum ten pages), with 12-point font, and double-spaced. Please note that a minimum of three sources in addition to the textbook must also be used for a better than average grade.

Textbook used is: Essentials of Understanding Psychology, by Robert Feldman.
