Textbook: chicano folklore: a guide to the folktales, traditions, rituals and religious practices of mexican americans
The purpose of the Research Notes assignment is two-fold,1) of course I want you to learn about the topics listed and think about how they relate to this class, and 2) I want you to practice note-taking in preparation for writing a research paper.
This is a NOTE TAKING exercise, not an essay or report. Research the four (4) topics you selected from your READING SUMMARY for this week. Conduct Research through the LAMC Library and find at least one article on each topic. If you cannot find a relevant article through the LAMC Library, search online. If you still cannot find a relevant article, select a different topic. USE CREDIBLE SOURCES, Use official College or University sources wherever possible. Take notes from your selected articles. For each source, write the SOURCE CITATION AT THE TOP IN PROPER MLA FORMAT NOT JUST WEB LINKS!!! Write the notes you took from that source underneath the citation.
