Introduction and Alignment

One of your major assignments for this class is the composition of an analysis paper entitled A Journey of Childhood and Adolescence. This analysis paper is autobiographical in nature but is not a simple accounting of the events of your early life (birth up to age 18 years). Rather, the primary goal of the paper is to identify events, contrast them to theory discussed within your textbook, and analyze your early life experiences with at least one of the theoretical perspectives described in your textbook.

Upon completion of this assignment, you should be able to:

Relate the relevance of early experiences to the understanding of future functioning of an individual.
