Your objective is to consider something in your life that you understand well and examine it in the context of Information Security. This could be a hobby, a game, a job, something you interact with regularly (ex. IoT, traffic, shopping, etc). Research potential problems, solutions (good or bad), current political climate (ex. Encrypted DNS), future uses and abuses; really anything where a discussed topic has some relevance. You can also research a specific breach, vulnerability, exploit or recent event (last 5 years ONLY) that has affected ITSEC policy or public understanding.If youre still struggling for topic choices, let me know if you have any hobbies/interests, alternatively, what industry are you hoping to work with after college? You could always investigate some of the InfoSec issue related to that sector specifically.
