As nurses caring for people it is important to understand healthcare disparities and improve patient care outcomes. In order to do this we must understand gender differences and how those differences affect the care we provide. For example there is a need for a strong understanding of the Short Therapeutic Window for stroke, being vigilant in not displaying gender bias in the care we provide which is common for women.
