For this paper, read the entire Meno. Relatively early in the Meno (around 80d), Meno poses a two-pronged, very difficult question to Socrates, in effect calling into question the usefulness and purpose of Socrates’s entire method of elenchus. In doing so, Meno also poses one of the earliest problems for ‘epistemology’ (theory of knowledge.) In this paper, first clearly explain in your own words what Meno’s challenge is and why it is a challenge. (Do not just repeat what Meno says – explain it). Then, tell what Socrates’s answer is (the rest of the Menomust be read to answer this part). Is it a good, adequate answer in your opinion? Is Meno’s worry sufficiently put down in your view? Why or why not.
