First, choose one of the following options– a health care organization that may be your current or previous employer or one case scenario from cases 1 to 14 in chapter 14 of the required text. Next, take a position as the leader of your selected health care organization. You understand the critical role Health Care Information Systems, HCIS, play in patient care and patient satisfaction. After coming on board for one month, you gain the whole picture of issues and needs for an effective HCIS to serve the patients. You decide to submit a report to the board members for review before you make an oral presentation in the next board meeting. Your final paper should, one, describe your chosen health care organization, including the nature of the business, the services or products, and the customer served. Two, identify the issues and needs for purchasing or upgrading HCIS. Be sure to specify the type of HCIS, for example, artificial intelligence, clinical decision support system, cloud computing, digital health electronic health record, laboratory information system, patient portal, software application, telehealth, et cetera. Three, outline the essential activities needed in the systems development lifecycle, SDLC, specific to your proposed HCIS. Before you write the narrative text of your paper for the week 3 assignment due by day seven, you will create a detailed outline for the first three requirements using this full sentence outline document as a guide linked in Canvas. There are five helpful comment bubbles across the two pages.] Your detailed outline must be two to three double-spaced pages in length, include a separate title page with the following in title case, title of the paper in bold font– space should appear between the title and the other information on the title page– student’s name, name of institution– the University of Arizona Global Campus– course name and number, instructor’s name, due date. Use at least two scholarly sources, in addition to the course text. Document any information used from sources in APA style. Include a separate references page formatted according to APA style. Next, you will upload your outline to the week for discussion board by day one of week four. This is a peer review discussion. Your instructor will assign you into pairs to perform the peer review. Your peer review should include the strengths and weaknesses of the final paper prep, as well as suggestions for improvement. By day seven of week four, you will give or get feedback and make adjustments to improve your final paper outline. Then you will write your paper.

Determine the proposed HCIS’s impacts on diversity, equity, and inclusion in relation to health care provisions, such as access, cost, and quality. Create a risk analysis strategy needed for your proposed HCIS in accordance with applicable laws and standards. Summarize best practices and policies needed for your proposed HCIS as they relate to data governance, information exchange, or technical and structural interoperability. Estimate two things could go wrong to implement your proposed HCIS, and compose your strategic planning to ensure the success of implementation.
