This assignment aims to enhance your ability to present complex topics in an accessible and engaging format, facilitating better understanding and discussions around death and dying. By creating the infographic, you can demonstrate your knowledge of best practices, cultural considerations and ethical issues in end-of-life care. This will thereby prepare you to support individuals and families with compassion and competence during the dying process.
Imagine you have been tasked by your agency to create an Infographic explaining to families the process of death and dying. You may use whatever format you choose as long as you are able to upload it to the Learning Management System. Citing three to five sources, create the infographic that includes the following:
1. Explain the physical, cognitive, and social changes of very late adulthood.
2. Provide appropriate resources about physical, cognitive, and social changes for families dealing with very late adulthood issues.
3. Describe the major components of the dying process in layman’s terms so a family can understand.
4. Explain the processes of loss, grief, and bereavement.
5. Provide appropriate end-of-life local resources available for families dealing with very late adulthood issues, including end-of-life decision making, your state’s advanced directives and the importance of assigning a Medical Power of Attorney (MPOA)
6. Explain the risk and protective factors that impact the elderly.
7. Provide information of spirituality and the role it has in end-of-life care. Include how a social worker would support this process.
8. Document all sources cited in APA formatting.
Use a infographic format of your choice that is appealing to your target audience. (graphics and color are encouraged but keep image file sizes small).
While APA style is not required for the body of the infographic assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
