In this paper, you will examine6 designs commonly used in research. You will summarize how research is done using each design, summarize illustrations of each design, and provide ideas of how you would design a study in an area of research of interest to you. The specific designs youwill examine are listed below:•Qualitative research •Observational research•Correlational research •Between groups design Here you may choose a design that would use either a t-test or a oneway ANOVA.•Within group design. Here you may choose a design that would use either a t-test or a oneway ANOVA•Factorial design. To do this paper, think of any phenomenon you would like to know more about. You will be designing six different ways you could research this phenomenon in this paper. Begin your paper with an introductory paragraph about some central tenants regarding research and the scientific method. Next describe your area of interest. (This can be the topic you will be studying in your senior capstone, if you’d like). Describe this phenomenon based on what you have previously read or observed (this is only a paragraph and it is not a literature review, although you may cite a source or two if you’d like). Then move through each design method listed above as described below.Each section of the paper will have 3 subsections (you should be thinking about level headings for APA style). •In the first section, you will describe one of the research methodologies listed above. Explain the approach to research using this particular design and the particular internal and external validity issues that might result from this type of design. Additionally, discuss any ethical issues that might be particularly relevant to this type of research. This subsection of your paper will likely to two paragraphs in length.•In the second section, you will provide an exampleof this type of research, explaining the variables studies and how it illustrates this type of research.You must use either the illustrative research example in each chapter (e.g., the case study on serial killers in Chapter 5, observational study on parental discipline in Chapter 6, etc.) or the articles you reviewed in the “Research Article” assignments. At least of the 3 articles from the “Research Article” assignments must be used in the paper. The purpose of this is subsection of your paper is not to re-write the book or articles, but rather to show each component of this type of research design as used in a study. Additionally, address any ethical concerns related to the research. This section can likely be done sufficiently in 7-12 sentencesor two well-constructed paragraphs.•In the third section, you will indicate how you would design a study in your chosen area of interest, using this research design. You should also discuss any ethical considerations specific to this particular designand your area of study. This subsection of your paper will likely be one paragraph of 7-10 sentences.Provide a summary and conclusion to your paper.Be sure your paper is formatted in standard APA style, 11 or 12-pt font either Arial or Times New Roman, 1” margins all around, with a title page, citations, and references all in APA style. You must include at least level 1 headings, but I would strongly recommend level 2 headings as well.You do not need an abstract. You may not quote in this paper. Paraphrase all of your sources. The paper proper (excluding title page and references) must be between 8 and 10 pages in length.
