Students are encouraged to think broadly about the issues, avoiding the “one right answer.” Effective papers will demonstrate comprehension of the issues facing each company, the ability to effectively synthesize information from multiple vantage points, and arrive at original conclusions through professional writing.

Situation Analysis: Summarize relevant information from the readings based on what you think is most salient to the problem statement.

Assumptions: Provide some analysis of what assumptions that you are making based upon the information that is available. How might those assumptions limit your thinking? What information is unavailable but would aid in your analysis?

Defining the Problem: What are the marketing challenges? How do these challenges impact other areas of the organization?

Evaluation of Alternatives and Recommendations: What are the brand’s alternatives to the problem that you posed? What do you recommend? Why? How is it different than what the brand ultimately decided upon?
