Discuss some of these causes and their effects (consequences). Are they complex, or simple? PART 1: Respond to Post by : Carie W. Post: After reading the article, I found many causes and effects throughout. Obviously, the first most prominent event happened when she was shot in the eye from one of her brother’s BB guns. This event started unjust feelings of self-hate and self-doubt. Alice began to see herself differently even though she was reassured that she had not changed. She began to lose interest in things she took pride in, such as her school work and appearance. She was sent to a different school where she felt she had no friends and no one knew her before the accident. Everyone saw her as the girl with the messed-up eye instead of the cute girl with so much sense. Later, she moved back to her old community, where she felt some love from old friends. She then moved to Boston with her brother. They got her to a doctor who was able to remove the “blob” from her eye. This event began changing her outlook on life positively. She felt renewed and uplifted. With her head held high, she turned her life around and onto the path she was always meant for. These events might seem simple to many but, I feel they are very complex for Alice. She will forever hold the world in her eye. PART 2: Respond to Post by : Chasity T. Post: Alice starts out by telling how beautiful she is and how many siblings she has, what job her dad had. She knows she’s a pretty little girl and loves the attention she gets from the little ladies at Write a paper on the Effects of Being in a Choir Being in a choir and singing affects me and many others positively. The first thing to understand is the music itself is powerful and uplifting. Then it always feels good being at practice, seeing everyone, and catching up with each other. (Launay n.d.) Studies show being a part of a choir is a great way to become more social, friendly, and talkative. It strengthens one’s spiritual and emotional health. Also, some benefits are recognized immediately. Those benefits would be inhaling, exhaling, sitting up straight, the release of stiffness, pain, and tension. (Launay n.d.) These are great reasons to join a choir. But for me, it is what my heart wants to do. I love how the effects make me smile and love the bonding time with the others in the choir. Jacques Launay. Post: First Responders Acts of Courage For first responders, courage is in the job description. The causes of the courageous acts of these first responders are many. A call may come in any time of the day or night, and first responders will spring into action. Police officers may respond to a hostage situation with children involved and calmly resolve the crises. After the officers have de-escalated the situation, the firefighters will swoop in with paramedics to provide rescue and emergency medical services. A personal vehicle could wreck on the side of a mountain, and first responders are the ones on lines traversing the steep, unsafe terrain to try and save the distressed motorist. The call to courage comes multiple times daily for first responders, and without fail, they courageously answer the call.
