1) Part 1: ( Each student will read Select portions of Longman’s “Introducing the Old Testament” (included in Learning activities Week 1 in PDF form) and compress the information of how each OT book anticipates Christ into a well thought out, well edited and carefully contextualized manual for their ministry service situation where they will teach others how to teach the anticipation of Christ in the OT. This 4 page document should be both literarily and aesthetically appealing. The goal of this assignment is to produce something that is actually usable in real life. The final product should be a tool each student could actually use to help their people understand how the OT anticipates the advent, resurrection and atoning work of Jesus Christ.
a) pg 1-2 should focus on communicating how the 3 major Hebrew Bible sections (Law, Prophets, Writings) bear witness to the coming Messiah
b) pg 3 should present the hermeneutical “dos and don’ts” of reading the OT Christologically
c) pg 4 should express what is at stake in communicating Christ from the OT (Why, When, Where?)
