focus on themes
Given that exam questions will always feature a choice between an extract and an essay question it would be a good idea to look at the Characters and Themes sections of this very accessible guide. For today I d like you to concentrate on four themes in particular – hate, marriage, identity and jealousy. Paying particular attention to their Chew on This sections try to gather evidence to support/refute their ideas. Bear in mind that in exam conditions you are only likely to have time for a five paragraph (introduction, three body paragraphs, conclusion) so cut your cloth accordingly!
