Write about a discourse community. Choose a group of mostly like-minded individuals that share a passion, a journey, and/or a way of life. Your choice could be ethnic, socio-economic, political, global, literary, professional, gender based or religious based. If you cannot think of a discourse community, consider picking a topic from this list: a religious or faith based organization, jazz artists, Buddhist monks, NASCAR (fans or drivers), Appalachian Trail hikers, Facebook, Comic-Con or Cosplay, tattoo studios, or gamers (picking a specific game and type of gamer). Step 2- Answer the following questions: What is unique about the discourse community? What are rules that govern this discourse community? What is language/phrases unique to this community? How do people within the community interact with each other? How do people outside the community interact with or make assumptions about this community? What art, music, food, and/or pop culture etc. are associated with this community? How does this community contribute to society? Step 3- Quote and cite at least once source in MLA format that supports your assertions about a community. Use your quotes as evidence.
