The dependent variable is inward FDI and the independent variables are the institutional environment/risks and political risks. It should be structured in this way: 1. Your dependent variable a. Assessment of its importance. b. What do we know about its antecedents based on previous studies? c. Why do you believe developing countries are a special case? (you choose to focus on developing countries for a reason, e.g. currently dominating theories, elaborated in developed countries on samples consisting almost exclusively of developed countries, do not apply to them; emerging countries likely have different antecedents to FDI than developed countries (you explain why) and as such likely challenge our currently dominating theories). Your first and second independent variable a. Assessment of its importance. b. What we know about its impact on your dependent variable (in general, not limited to emerging countries). c. What we know about its impact on your dependent variable in the case of emerging countries. d. What you believe the impact to be. e. Hypothesis. If possible try to avoid using researchers state that and use logical arguments backed by literature
