Write a summary on the Beatles.
1) How the Beatles chose to be perceived during the time they were
together
2) How they established themselves as solo artists apart from the group
3) How they looked back and presented their own history and
4) How their history has been told and celebrated by others

The final project focuses on what we’ve seen in this course.

The final project is in two parts.

PART 1
From the list below, choose a total of eight films/documentaries/interviews
and pick one scene from each that either:
1)Created their image that was an accurate reflection of who they were at
that time
2) Reinforced their image
3) Changed their image in a meaningful way
Your response for each scene should be approximately 200 words
and should not just summarize the scene but give a careful analysis
about how it relates to their image. The total word count for the 8
examples is 1600 words.
Please number each film/documentary/interview 1-8.
Conclude part 1 by writing 250 words that reflects on all the examples you
chose in totality. Is there a theme that emerges running throughout? How
do these examples show the evolution of the Beatles’ image?

PART 2
There are two separate questions in this part, both to be answered in
essay form.
We have talked a lot in this class about how the Beatles were not just a
phenomenon whose success was a once in a century, that they were not
just the most successful recording group of all time, but one that
revolutionized recording, the music industry, were at the forefront of so
much that changed during the 1960s including how men wore their hair,
fashion, the use of drugs, and politics in popular music.
1)In a response of 500 words, discuss:
A)How much of their success was based on their music, their movies and
how much of it was based on the humor, charm and what they displayed at
press conferences and in interviews?
B)Did they really “change” the world and if so, in what ways?
C)What were the lasting impact of those changes that you can point to in
2021?
2)In 250 words, address this quote: “The Beatles saved the world from
boredom.” – George Harrison. What was Harrison saying? How was it
perceived? Was he right?
