Given the growth of the global marketplace, the final section of the chapter addresses virtual teams, which are challenging to leaders because they are not only dispersed geographically but are often culturally different as well. The performance of a virtual team is enhanced when leaders exploit the team’s diversity for the team’s benefit, technology simulates reality, and leaders are particularly diligent to hold virtual teams together (Hughes, Ginnett & Curphy, 2018). Hughes et al. (2018) highlight how research indicates that these teams, when designed and constructed properly, might be even more effective than in-place teams.

Other than working online here with UOP, have you had any experience with virtual teams?
